Did you tell yourself that you were going to quit something or start doing something at the beginning of this year? If you did and you are still procrastinating then you are running out of time. I suppose that we as a nation should have had a collective resolution that we would eliminate stupidity amongst ourselves as soon as the New Year got underway. We should have decided that some of the pathetic mannerisms we practiced in 2010 weren’t carried into 2011. Well unfortunately it seems they are hovering over us like a giant spider web.
How do you tell me to break up with my girl because God doesn’t approve of it? How do you even justify yourself in the first place? My statement doesn’t mean that I am not believer, no, I just don’t understand how they draw their conclusions because one thing is for sure: God didn’t knock on their front door carrying a list of couples who should be separated lest the world faces an apocalypse. Trust me give whoever said that a few years and they will look back and wish they never said or did whatever they did. But then time will be gone, water spilled and no chance to correct such a laughable deed.
That was last year and I thought that with the New Year things would change and the light of the mature would shine upon them but I stood to be corrected. A few days ago a girl woke up on a Sunday morning ready to go to church and give thanks and praise to God. Unfortunately the “elders” of the church couldn’t allow her to sing before the congregation, reason, she was not modestly dressed. Well maybe they had a case I didn’t see her myself but the way some of those ladies they call sisters I see dressed is far from modest.
This is what most of our churches have been filled with; double standards. It’s the classic example of preaching water and drinking wine. You know I hypothesize that’s one of the reasons the whites took advantage of us because we concentrate on bringing each other down while we grin to the exposure of our farthest molar. We have been reduced in concentrating at the wrong things while those things that matter pass by our faces. Who gave some people especially the so called church elders the task of being the jury, judge and the executioner. Well I need you to tell me which versions of the bible you read because if you subscribe to the editions we know then you must have come across this
“He that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone at her, John 8:7”.
At the end of the day it’s all that is between you and the most powerful, supreme and omnipresent almighty father. Forget about telling us how to dress because we are mature and capable of making decisions consistent with our present states of life. Trying to be good before my eyes will not add points to your basket; it won’t illuminate some secret path or open some magic door. God wants us the way we are and knows each one of us in better ways than any mortal would so bottom line is quit doing work that nobody appointed you to, haven’t you got something better to do? If you didn’t hear this from anyone or did and buried your head in the sand hoping the reality would pass then better get it now, ALL IS VANITY, draw your own conclusions!
