I certainly am very much confused here. I don’t see why government agencies have to advertise. Let me put this into perspective. Its one thing for a company to advertise itself but its another to advertise its services. Someone may argue that there is a very thin line between the two but I see a supper think bold line right there.
Forget about developed countries where consumers have information even about the raw materials used to make the products they buy. Right here in Kenya I can bet that 90% of all consumers only know about the brand and not the company behind it. therefore it makes no absolute sense for a company to advertise it self but the products they sell.
So which companies are we talking about here? Kenya pipeline company. This is the sole owner of oil pipeline in the country. So why exactly are they advertising during prime time periods on national television. It beast logic and this is why, their consumers are mainly the various companies that supply fuel and fuel products. Am talking of Vivo energy, Total Kenya, Kenol Kobil etc. In addition more the companies don’t need telling who to go to; they already know!
Not unless KPC feels there is no love from the Kenyan population, I think then they are wasting taxpayers money advertising themselvesĀ on national television.
